excellent experience in traditional setting

i found the staff consistently helpful and they spoke english well. the hotel's proximity to kiyomizudera and gion street made sightseeing convenient. its nearness to the subway station was a definite plus. the traditional homes in the quiet neighborhood added charm.
the bathroom smell lingered a bit because ventilation could improve slightly. also, the sink drained slowly, indicating a minor clog issue.

restrictive breakfastimpatient staff
The breakfast times felt quite restrictive. They were only between 7:00 am and 8:30 am. I found this INCONVENIENT because i like a more relaxed start on some days. the pillows were too firm for me. I had trouble getting comfortable, though I understand some people prefer them that way. The reception staff seemed a bit serious, and while they were polite, they weren't overly friendly or helpful! they seemed to be a little impatient when i needed to ask some questions.

the key policy IRRITATED me. I had to leave my key at the front desk every time i left and retrieve it upon return. the room's small size and limited storage created inconvenience. the hard pillows made it difficult to sleep.
